ACC Success Stories
ImageAdaja Jackson (right), took her first independent steps at the Achievement Centers for Children! Adaja’s first steps without the assistance of her walker or crutches were huge accomplishments for her, her parents, and her therapists. They were so excited that Adaja and her physical therapist announced her success over the intercom system at the Achievement Centers to share her accomplishment with our entire staff.  Everyone was so thrilled for Adaja and her family that cheers erupted from the hallways.

ImageWhen Shelley Janesz learned that her son, Kamal (left) had autism, she wondered if he would ever talk. Kamal learned to use sign language at the Achievement Centers for Children to express his feelings to his family. He took to the sign language so quickly, his speech therapist is now working with him on using simple words.

Ron was born blind with cerebral palsy. He has fond memories of his weeks at camp, especially of all of the good friends he has made over the years. Ron thinks that camp is a great way to help break down the barriers between those with disabilities and those without disabilities.
